OnePlus Nord 2T Review: Design

The look and feel of the OnePlus Nord 2T are much better or can be said to be the best in its range. However, the size of the phone and the look of the front is quite similar to its Predator Nord 2. You will also see elements of OnePlus in the phone, such as the alert slider is present in it. We have got the Jade Fog color variant as a review unit. There is glass on the rear panel of the phone and it gives a nice look. On the other hand, it comes with another color option – the gray shadow, with a textured back like you, might have seen on the 10R recently. Primarily, the phone comes with a plastic body, but the front and back panels are protected by Gorilla Glass 5.

6.43-inch screen

There is a large camera module on the rear side, however, when it comes to the size of the phone, it depends on the user’s preference. For some people, this size may be the best and for some, it may not be appropriate. We’re saying this because the 6.43-inch screen may be a bit big for some people. Well, the number of smartphones we have used, this size is now in many smartphones in India and we did not face any problem in using it. It was easy for us to operate the phone with one hand. It also weighs 190 grams and the edges are all curved, so it fits easily in the hand.

There are two large circles on the rear camera module, in which three cameras are fitted. By the way, it can be said that this camera module of this is quite unique and different.

The phone has a Type-C port, SIM tray slot, and a speaker grille on the bottom edge. But you will not get an audio jack in it, which is a somewhat important feature. On the right side of the phone are the power button and volume buttons along with the alert slider. In this, you get an in-display fingerprint scanner, which is capable of doing its job very quickly. By the way, if you do not like this, then there is also a Face Unlock feature available here. OnePlus 10R and Nord CE 2 Lite prices leaked ahead of launch

OnePlus Nord 2T Review: Display

Also, the OnePlus Nord 2T sports a 6.43-inch AMOLED display with Full HD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate support. The display is very bright and sharp, as well as the colors are also good. On the screen of Nord 2T, you will see apps, photos, and videos quite sharp and this display remains comfortable on the eyes too. Browsing and scrolling are quite smooth on the phone with a 90Hz refresh rate, but there is a slight difference when gaming. With a 180Hz touch sampling rate, this screen is built for light game apps.

OnePlus Nord 2T Review Display

The screen of the Nord 2T is good enough for those who are watching content on the phone through OTT apps. We had a good experience watching content on OTT apps. During this the contrast was good, the colors were also punchy and then there is HDR10+ support in it. In terms of brightness, it’s not very good with 600 nits, but it gets the job done. Viewing angles are good on the screen. It also has a cutout for the selfie camera on the top left.

OnePlus Nord 2T Review: Camera

The OnePlus Nord 2T doesn’t have a premium camera, but if you don’t want the absolute best camera features, you won’t have a problem. It has three cameras on the back, including the main 50MP, ultra-wide 8MP, and a 2MP mono sensor. Let’s know about the performance of the camera.

The main camera of 50MP comes with OIS. The camera performance is good in bright daylight. You will get good detail in the pictures. But as the illumination decreases, its performance decreases. However, photos taken in good light show sharp details and good colors. But don’t expect better detail in nighttime photos. Autofocus is also not very good, but it does not make any difference to the quality of the pictures.

Talking about the phone’s 8MP ultra-wide camera, it is also capable of taking good shots, but the condition is that the lighting should be good.

The 2MP monochrome lens does just fine here. By the way, if it is not used at all, it is better. Well, if the company offered a 2MP telephoto lens here, it would probably have been better. OnePlus 10T Review – Pros and cons, Verdict

32MP selfie camera

The Nord 2T packs a 32MP selfie camera on the front, which clicks good and bright pictures. The original skin tone and good colors will be visible in these photos, but the detailing is a bit lacking. Although the focus was on the subject in the photos, the background was later, and the colors looked very accurate. The noise in these pictures was very less, which may not be visible to the common man.

With the OnePlus Nord 2T, you can shoot 4K videos at 30fps and Full HD videos at 60fps. These videos are good too.

OnePlus Nord 2T Review: Performance

OnePlus Nord 2T is powered by Octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 1300 chipset. This is the first smartphone in India with this chipset. However, it does not see many upgrades compared to the Predator Dimensity 1200 chipset as its clock speed and cores are almost the same. Yes! But the company has given HyperEngine 5 with Dimension 1300 here, which gives a slight boost to the performance during gaming. OnePlus 10T gets 125W charging in the US

OnePlus has introduced the octa-core Dimensity 1300 chipset here with up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. The unit of the OnePlus 2T we are reviewing has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Now talking about its performance, this phone is able to do everything very easily. Apps open and close smoothly on it, using social media apps like Twitter, Instagram, and browsing, everything runs smoothly. We also did multi-tasking on it and there are no complaints in that too. The gaming experience was also good overall. Games like CoD Mobile, and Asphalt 9 can play comfortably on it with a high frame rate and HD graphics.

We have also done some synthetic tests on it, the results of which you can see below:

OnePlus Nord 2T Review Performance

Now let’s talk about the software, Nord 2T works on Android 12 based Oxygen OS 12.1. A neat UI with Oxygen OS was seen here. It also has some decent customization features and the performance is good too. There are also features like Always On Display, and Private Safe to store data in an encrypted format. You can customize it according to you. Also, it does not contain any bloatware or adware. The thermal performance of the phone is also good. It never got much grime during our use. Although it does get a little hot, it is quite a common thing in this season in India, for which there is no need to worry.

IP52 rating

OnePlus has said to provide 3 software updates and 4 years of security updates. You get the phone with an IP52 rating, which means it is water-protected. Talking about the audio, it has a speaker on the lower edge, which has decent audio quality. While this speaker is fine for a little bit of listening, it is not for listening carefully or closely to the audio. How Can I Check my phone for malware and Viruses? 10 Best antivirus apps

OnePlus Nord 2T Review: Battery

OnePlus Nord 2T has a 4500mAh battery, which is enough for a day, normal or normal use. That is, according to calling, watching videos, browsing for a while, and a little gaming, this is a lot. But if you are a heavy user, or are very fond of gaming, then it will run a little less and in this case, it’s an 80W charger, which charges the phone from 0 to 100% in just 32 minutes.

So here we can say that OnePlus has not given you any chance to complain here.

OnePlus Nord 2T Review Verdict: Should You Buy This Phone?

OnePlus Nord 2T can be called a good upgrade to OnePlus Nord 2. Although this smartphone is not equipped with any very unique design or features, it definitely has its own merits. It has a fast processor, a good AMOLED display, and super-fast charging technology. But its design reminds you of the old Nord 2. Also, it is a 5G ready phone with an IP52 rating and a clean UI. Although the camera is not very good here, and the refresh rate is limited to 90Hz, but if this feature is not important to you, then it can be ignored, and then the Nord 2T seems to be one of the best smartphones in the Rs 30,000 range.

  • Clear and Simple UI
  • very fast charging
  • IP52 rating

  • Secondary cameras do not produce better results
  • Lags in heavy loads
  • No wireless charging
